SHAH ALAM, Oct 21 — A mechanic, paralysed from the waist down and convicted of possessing 17.71g of methamphetamine, was spared from being given three strokes of the cane for the offence after the High Court here today revoked the punishment.

PUTRAJAYA, Oct 19 — A mechanic convicted of trafficking in 10.53g of methamphetamine escaped the gallows after the Court of Appeal today acquitted and discharged him of the charge.
